Miss Hughes and Mr. Wedlock Exchange Vows The Avalon Methodist Church in Avalon was the setting on July 22, 1972 for the wedding of Barbara Jones, Hale, both accessories. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Eldon Smith, uncle of the bride, of Leon, la. As the guests arrived they were ushered to their seats by Mr. David Hughes, brother of the bride, and Mr. Mark Wedlock, brother of the bridegroom, both of Chillicothe. Organist, Mrs. Bill Smith, played wedding selections while the guests were being seated, and also accompanied Miss Kathy Sears who sang "Twelfth of Never." Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a floor- length gown with an under dress of satin with a scooped neckline and an over dress of chantilly lace, featuring an empire waistline and softly gathered skirt, high stand up collar and long lace sleeves, accented with wide cuffs and tiny pearl buttons. The elbow length bridal illusion veil was held by a crown of lace over bridal satin. The wedding gown and veil was styled by the bride's mother. The bride's bouquet consisted consisted of white carnations and tinted pink baby's breath, with white satin ribbon streamers. Her jewelry consisted of a necklace, a gift from the bridegroom. A street length dress of soft pink crepe was worn by the matron of honor, Mrs. Floyd Hutcherson, Chillicothe, sister of the bride. Her A-line dress featured long puffed sleeves and stand up collar. She carried a long stem white carnation. Her dress was also styled by the brides mother. Serving as best man was Mr. Bill Wade of Chillicothe. Mrs. David Hughes, sister-in- law of the bride; was at the guest book. Receiving the gifts were Miss Debbie Locke, Hale, and Miss Miss Janice Ross, and Mrs. Francis Avalon, assisted with the reception. The bridal table was covered with a lace table cloth and centered with pink candles. The three-tiered wedding cake featured pink roses and was topped with a bride and bridegroom. Pink punch nuts, and mints were also served. For her daughters wedding, Mrs. Hughes chose a powdered blue double knit dress with white accessories. She wore a pink carnation corsage. Mrs. Wedlock wore a brown and white knit dress with white Hamilton, grandmother of the bridegroom, wore a royal blue figured dress and white carnation carnation corsage. For the wedding trip to eastern and southern Missouri and Arkansas, Mrs. Wedlock chose a pink dotted Swiss dress with empire waist-line and a white edged in pink carnation corsage. The couple will make their home in Chillicothe where Mr. and Mrs. Wedlock each have employment. Mrs. Wedlock will attend the Chillicothe R-2 schools. A miscellaneous bridal MR. AND MRS.
