Start Changing 7,000 More Phones ToDii - Preparations for the conversion of 7,000 more Ottawa telephones to the dial method of operation are now under way, according to Miles B. Hamilton, district manager of the Bell Telephone Company of Canada. Crews of Installers will begin changing subscribers' . instruments this week and will continue this work through the year. Later, probably early In March, rerouting of certain underground and aerial cables will commence. ' The cut-over of some 7,000 telephones from the Carling exchange, now known as Office No. 7, to the new dial centre at Albert and O'Connor streets, is scheduled for January of next year, Mr. Hamilton said. .When the project is completed, approximately 84 percent of Ottawa's telephones will be dial-operated. , ( MOS1 REV.
