than I j ' ' First District Bar Meeting Held at Marion The First Judicial district of the Federation of Bar Associations had the on J C U o l , i it met yesterday at Marion. Traf- I ton Dennis of Harrisburg, retiring president, said today. The First district, composed of bar associations from 34 southern Illinois counties, had held this honor in thc past but last year it to another district. This year thc honor was regained. The meeting was held at the phcum theatre with Atty. Dennis presiding, responding to thc address address of welcome by Atty. Leon Culp of Williamson county, and introducing the speakers. The program consisted of thc following: "Proposed Legislation for thc 1955 Session," by Charles G. Brig- glc Jr. of Springfield and Ivan A. Elliott Sr. of Carmi. "Proposed Changes in the Probate Probate and Trust Law," by Austin Fleming of Chicago. "Proposed Changes in the Civil Practices Act," by Paul Farthing of Belleville, Ralph W. Harris of Marion and Guy E. McGaughey At a dinner meeting held at y , Marion Elks lodge an address was made by Karl C. Williams, president president of the Illinois State Bar association. association. New officers were elected as follows follows : President. Norman Gundlach of Belleville: vice president, John G.
