Harder Jkeatr Marietta. Thomaa A. T. Jett, who lived on Little Muskingum River, about one mile. above the Clay-bank Clay-bank Clay-bank Mills, and six miles from Marietta, met his death, on last Saturday night, in a manner which leaves no doubt that he wan -murdered. -murdered. Thedinappearanceof the money is sufficient to dlHpel the theory that the man was trampled to death by the horses. It Is evidently a case of murder, and the murderer was no doubt aware that the deceased had money, and killed him to secure possession of it. . . . Mr. Jett waa about fifty-one fifty-one fifty-one years of age. He hsd no family, and lived entirely alone, doing hia own work, both in the house and on the farm, except in harvest time, when he employed assistance to Esther hia crops. A German woman, owever, living in the neighborhood, did his baking for him, and she it was who discovered his body in the stable. She went to his house on Sunday morning with some fresh pork, to give to the deceased deceased for dinner, and not finding him there, went to the stable in search of him. fibs discovered the body, and immediately immediately gave tbe alarm. It has been but a short time since Mr. Jen's house was entered bv Mileyes, during his absence, and robbed Two persona, named Lafayette' 'La-grange 'La-grange 'La-grange and Simeon M. De vol, (the latter, wa bnlleve, no connection of Simeon M. Devol, Esq.of Coal Run,) have been arrested arrested on suspicion. These men are suspicious suspicious characters! they were seen to- to- E ether all day on Friday in that neighbor ood. Devol la the man who haa always been suspected of having robbed Mr..
