"Jack" Sly, 45, was born January 29, 1918 at Northcreek, Beaver County, Utah, to Dale and Hilma Johnnah Rosenberg Sly. Married LaVern Littlefield March 23, 1940 in Beaver. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He has been active in the LDS Church and served as scoutmaster in Lehi Second Ward for several years. He was a member of the American Legion, Utah Wildlife Association and taught the National Rifle Association classes for many years. He was employed at the Tooele Ordinance Depot. He is survived by his mother of Parowan; his wife and daughters: Mrs. Neil (Beth) Miller, Mrs. Lloyd (Betty) Gurney, Jacklyn Sly and Bonnie Sly, all of Lehi; and Mrs. Leonard (Patricia) Parry, Bluffdale. Also surviving are six grandchildren and two brothers and a sister: Joseph Sly, Calif.; Thurland Sly, Milford, Utah; and Noble (Lenore) Waite, Huntington Beach, Calif.
