THE HOLLAND, MICHIGAN, EVENING SENTINEL \ over-1 run Ottawa County 4-H News By Willis S. Boss County Extension Agent, 4-H The West Ottawa 4-H Horse Club is sponsoring a Labor Day Horse Show on Monday, Sept. 7 at 10 a.m. at the Holland fairgrounds. There will be 25 events. Registration and entry fees can be gotten by writing to Chet Raak. West Ottawa 4-H Horse Club, Rural Route, Holland, Holland, Mich. There will be 4-H showmanship for members 14 years and under and for those 15 and over: plus halter and pleasure classes which will be open to the general public. There are some events open to 4-H members only. Awards were made to the following for showing the winning winning animals as follows: Randy Wabeke of Zeeland for the Junior Junior Champion Brown Swiss Sr. yearling: Jack Ferwerda of Blendon for the Grand and Senior Senior Champion 2-year old Brown Swiss; Vern Bohl of Beaverdam for the Junior Champion Jersey Jersey calf and the Senior and Grand Champion Jersey; Donna Donna kamps of the Star 4-H Club i for the Junior Guernsey Jr. I yearling; Jane Kamps of the Star for the Grand and Senior Champion 3-year old Guernsey Gene Van Rhee of Drenthe for the Junior Champion Hoi- stein Sr. yearling; Harvey Mesbergen of Bell 4-H Club for the Sr. and Grand Champion 3- year old Holstein: Audrey Spriensma of Bell 4-H Club the the Junior Showmanship award; Dave Petroelje of Townline 4-H Club -- the Sr. Showmanship Award. The Star 4-H Club won first place for Club Herd; Townline- second, Drenthe - third Bell fourth: Eagle-fifth. Winners for their beef animals were Mary De Mull of the Nunica Black and Red Club with the Grand Champion; Alvin Bennmk of the Nunica Black and Red Club with the Reserve Champion; Lee Spoolstra of Forest Grove 4-H Club for Junior Showmanship Showmanship and Mao De Mull for Senior Senior showmanship.
