Philip and Mrs. Van Gelder and Pam spent the weekend with her brother, Art and Mrs. Oordt and family at Titonka, la. Gerrit and Mrs. Van Wyk and three children spent Sunday in Minneapolis visiting his brother, Don and Mrs. Van Wyk and making the acquaintance of their three week old baby daughter, Shannon Jane. The Van Wyks now having two daughters. A group of five lady friends of Mrs. Larry Elliott from E.slher- ville stopped and had coffee with her Sunday morning on their way to Sioux City where they and Mrs. Elliott bowled in a tournament at the Plaza Bowl. Mrs. Elliott bowled with a group from Le Mars; last week she won first place in the singles at the city tournament in Le Mars. August De Boer and Mrs. D. De Boer received word of the death of their nephew. John Fredricks of Ripon, Calif. He was 73 years and had been living in a convalescent home. He was a cousin of Mrs. Gerrit Bellman and Mrs. D. Vander Pol. Tim and Mrs. Bindner and Kelly of Broomfield, Colo., visited all of last week in the parental Barney and Mrs. Bindner home. Jay and Mrs. Even returned Sunday evening from a two and a half weeks work and pleasure trip to Phoenix, Ari/.., and Las Vegas. Jay attended a trade show at Las Vegas. Wally Geurink of Denver spent several days in Ihe Gene Geurink home. He came to attend the funeral of his uncle, Evert Geurink last week Tuesday. Mrs. D. D. De Boer had as Thursday evening visitors John and Mrs. Slander and Jake and Mrs. Bonecroy both of Orange City. Sunday, Mrs. De Boer with Robert and Mrs. De Boer and family were dinner guests of Mrs. Grace Toering at Orange Cily. Celebrate Silver Wedding Mr. and Mrs. Jim Jansen observed their 25th wedding anniversary, which was Sunday, on Saturday evening when they entertained their family of six children and relatives at a (i:30 dinner at the Holland House. Attending were Messers and Mesdames: John Fennema. Ray Lubbers of Orange City, Phil Lubbers of Schleswig, Paul Lubbers of Hospers, Charles Foster of Omaha, Bob Fennema of Sioux City, Mrs. Gerrit Byker, Gerald and Sheryl of Hock Rapids and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Cambier. Jim and Mrs. Hibbing of Dennison were Sunday supper visitors in the parental Nick Gaul home. Leland and Mrs. Cambier attended the baptism of Iheir granddaughter, Michelle daughter of the Larry Cambiers at Fort Dodge Sunday al the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Lloyd and Mrs. Craig spent the weekend wilh her mother Mrs. Henry Zieg at Scrihner. Neb Mrs. Clara Adler Funeral Mrs. Clara Adler, 79, of Howard. S.D. died Monday, March 5 at Madison Community Hospital alter being ill for some time. Clara Schnee was born Oct. 13. 1893 to Mr. and Mrs. William Schnee of Alton, Iowa. On Nov. 30. 19IG, she married George Adler of Le Mars. Iowa. They moved to Howard in 1920 and farmed in the Howard area. He died in 1940. She had made her home at the Howard Good Samaritan Home since August of 1970. Mrs. Adler was recorder for Royal Neighbors of America for 35 years. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary. Civil League and Gray Ladies and was active in church affairs of St. Agatha Catholic Church. Survivors include two sons. Lee and Don, both of Howard; four daughters, Mrs. DeWayne i Lorraine) Moelleroi Pasadena. Calif.. Mrs. LeRoy (Ethel) Bohr of Howard, Mrs. Ralph (Audrey) Richardson. Madison and Mrs. Bill (Gloria) Chancy, Charleston Heights. S.C.; a brother and six sisters; 24 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Agatha Catholic Church, Howard, under the direction of Willoughbv Funeral Home, Howard. Attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Vouderhaar Mr. and Mrs. Joe Friedman. Mrs. Irene Schnee, Billy Schnee' Albert and Cornelia Schnee, Alton.
