Kafy F. F. A. Barbecue Chkken Dinner And Program Saturday Night, March 13th The Katy Chapter of Future Farmers of America is having a barbecue chicken dinner, in the High School Cafeteria Saturday night, March 13th, honoring the boys dads, honorary members, and Fat Stock Show committee members. This has become an annual affair and is usually held two weeks prior to the opening of the Fat Stpck Show. The barbecue is strictly an in,- vitation affair, but the program which will be held in the High School Auditorium beginning at 8:00 o'clock, is open-to the public. Make plans now to come >ut and enjoy two, hours of Top Entertainment featuring a variety of talent. With Bill McDougal, Farm and Ranch Director of KPRC-TV, as Master of ceremonies. Program highlights include: The Mellotones from Sam Houston State Teachers College — Bobby Rodriquez, Sammy 2hamberlaHn, Don Bateman, ana David Goodwin, featuring vocalists BUI Byers and Wilton Robinson, Glett Lowry, the jug- fling comedian from Sam Hous;on State Teachers College. The Barber Shop Quartet — Melvin Scott,-T. J. Heinemeier, Benny Stanbury, and John Dewees. The Katy High School Sextette — Jean and Joan Miller, Myra Swogetinsky, Rosemary Harriett, Norma Jean Thompson, and Madelyn Sue Freeman. Elizabeth Sparks — the acrobatic star from Addicka. Jean Miller, the ballet sweetheart of Katy. Bog Rodgers-i-- the Katy cowboy crooner. Cloice Meyers Directs Combined Easter Cantata The combined choir of the First Methodist and First Baptist Churches of Brookshire have begun rehearsals for their Easter Cantata. Mr. Cloice Meyers is directing the choir and Mrs. Meyers is the accompanist. Water (onnedlon Charge Raised Residents of the Brookshire Municipal water district will now pay $40.00 for connecting onto the city water system, according to Ralph Waters, recorder of the board of directors. This increase from the $25.00 heretofore charged, was decided upon in the regular meeting of the board on Monday afternoon. The Cost ft) the city for the meter box, pipe connections, etc., is over d by the increase they hope to defray some of this expense. The total charge to be made is $40. for connecting plus a $5.00 deposit-on the water meter which is refundable. The change is effective immediately.
