Garden Club To Meet On Friday Next Week The Friendship Garden Club will have their regular regular monthly meeting Friday, Friday, March 15th at 9:15 a.m. at the home of Mrs. Melvin Scott. Mrs. Raymond Raymond Barker will be assisting assisting Mrs. Scott as hostess. hostess. The program will be entitled "M e e t i n g The Challenges of Winter With Indoor Gardens." Mrs. J. P. Hill of Hilltop Farms in Cleveland, Texas Texas will be guest speaker. Mrs. Hill writes, lectures and exhibits throughout the South. A horticulture specialist, she is a member member of many National, International International and area Plant Societies. She will demonstrate terrariums and dish gardens, gardens, using the miniature plants. She will also show a garden on a log. The club will have a flower show on April 26 at the VFW Center. This year others will be invited invited to participate. Miss. Matthews of Hempstead Receives Grant Gamma Omega Chapter Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society met in the Waller High School Library February 3rd. Miss Elizabeth Lehmann Lehmann and Mrs. Beulah' Leverkuhn directed tiie White Elephant Sale for the scholarship fund. Mrs. Martha Belle Hellmuth, chapter persi- dent, conducted a short business session. Mrs. Ora Nell Heine, chairman of the nominating committee, committee, reported a slate of officers for the 196870 196870 biennium, with the election to be held in Brenham March 9th. Mrs. Nina McConnell introduced Miss Carol Dean Matthews of Hempstead, Hempstead, the Waller County student chosen to receive the annual Selective Recruitment Recruitment Grant offered by Gamma Omega Chapter Chapter to a prospective teacher. Mrs. Hellmuth offered congratulations and presented her with the one hundred dollar grant.
