' Vernon Henry "Pop" Blevins Vernon Henry "Pop" Blevins, 88, Ozark, passed away Monday, February 14, 2005. He was born July 15, 1916, in the 'Riverdale Community, the son of Henry Thomas Blevins and Lillie Mae (Baird) Blevins. He graduated from Nixa High School in 1934. He played baseball in High School and continued to enioy and teach the sport to others. On November 11, 1939, Vernon and Edna G. Payne were united in marriage. Mr. Blevins was a dairy and beef farmer. He was a member of Selmore Christian Church where he faithfully served as deacon and greeter. He was a director for MFA, and also served on the Selmore Special Road District for many years. He enioyed fishing and quail hunting with his dogs. His parents preceded him in death; as well as two brothers, Loyal and Carl Blevins. Survivors include his wife, Edna; two children, Dr. Dale Blevins, Columbia, and Patsy Hanks and husband Dennis, Ozark; three grandchildren, Brent Hanks and wife Lori, Marty Hanks and wife Michelle, all of Ozark, and Jeremy Blevins, Columbia; five great-grandchildren, Cody, Easton and Olivia Hanks, and Parker and Sutton Hanks; a sister-in-law, Thelma Blevins, Mt. Vernon; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2005, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial will follow in Selmore Cemetery, south of Ozark. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 17, 2005 in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Selmore Christian Church, 519 Tatum Drive, Ozark, MO 65721. 504 W.
