MARYM'ELROYTO MAKE APPEAL ON M'GEE'S BEHALF Determination Announced as Supreme Court Denies Doomed Man Re-hearing. by in a Miller, Kansas City, (.V)—Mary McEI- roy, brunct daughter of City Manager H. F. McElroy, said today that she would make a personal appeal tomorrow to Governor Guy B. Park for the commutation of tho death sentence awaiting her kidnaper, Walter McGee. Miss McElroy said she and her father will drive to Jefferson City tomorrow morning, and will present her appeal to him sometime before McElroy indicated she noon. Miss should suggest that justice would be served and her own life made easier If McGee's death sentence- set for execution on May 10—were made life Imprisonment. Both Miss McElroy and her father have steadfastly refused to comment oil the case In any'way while it waa before the courts. McGe« Happy McGee, in Jackson county 'jail here, burst into happy laughter when told that Miss McElroy is going to Jefferson City to plead for his life. "I certainly hope her all the luck In the world," the kidnaper said. he hlo he "She ought to be able to do some good." McGee said that as Miss McElroy was the victim In the kidnap plot, "her wishes ought to be law." John Kelley, the deputy sheriff on McGee'a deacth watch, joked with the condemned man. • "We'll make a good Democrat out of you yet," Kelly said, and McGee answered, "I've always been a Democrat."
