Wholesale Shooting-on Bennefield Farm Wednesday. an , Wednesday morning on the Bennefield farm near Burney altercation arose between the Smith family and other parties. Twenty-two Twenty-two shots were fired. Old man Smith was kiljed~and his son dangerously dangerously wounded.A party on the, other-side , was fatally wtmh- ded. The particulars are meagre but the row started over the sub­ renting of a farm. ;. '•-''• \ ,-LATKB :—-The following particulars of the killing on the, Bennefield Bennefield farm have come in : Bud Smith and a man named Graham quarreled over the sub-leasing of a farm occupied by Smith. Graham Graham and his two sonB went armed to Smith's house and -demanded posession: Smith refused aiwLfche shooting began; Smith was killed and his don William was dangerously, perhaps fatally, wounded. Graham was killed'and one of his sons was shot in the leg, 'seriously but n*t fatally. Deputy Baker is after the survivors. -•_•„'
