Bear Lake Bear Lake, Feb. 13—J. C. Manwaring Manwaring has purchased the property property formerly owned by Mrs. Elsie Hassam, and has moved in and some of the family is living there. Mrs. Manwaring, who is ill, is still staying at the home of Ivan Hawkins. Mr. Manwaring’s people people have lived in Bear Lake about six years, and they have been burned out twice. Charles Goodrich, who lives about two miles from Bear Lake on the Town Line road, had some excitement on Saturday when he found his house was on fire. He soon had the fire out with small damage. Mrs. Irvin Wilson is ill with ton silitis and Miss Alice Woodin is helping her. Raymond Cobb received word that his uncle in Jamestown was dead. On account of bad weather he did not attend the funeral. Word was received here that Mrs. Mary Chapman, vddow of the late John Chapman, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Kathryn Kathryn Clinger in Buffalo on Sunday morning. The remains will be brought here and laid in the family plot in the Bear Lake cemetery on Tuesday. Mrs. Chapman had lived here many years. , Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Rudgers of Watts Flats and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ayling of Niobe were recent callers callers of their mother and grandmother, grandmother, Mrs. Emma Rudgers. Mrs. Jennie Boon and Miss Smith were guests on Monday evening evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Price in Jamestown.
