a is defeat. The Virginia Outlaws.?A dis? patch from Norton, Wise county, says. The Fleming gang has disappeared in the mountains. Reliable parties have communicated with relatives of the Flemings, and bring information that Htenan Fleming lies buried under a fallen tree, with only a few leaves and brush to cover his body. His brother Calvin is thought to be dead in a cave near by. Deputy Sheriff Miller and Marshall Tom Osborue, of Norton, ac campauied by twenty.' men, returned yesterday morning from the seat of war sl\ Tounl Gap. Tbey brought with them a Winchester rifle, a grip, a hat, and a dog, which they captured from the Fleming boys in the battle Mon? day morning. They report both of t he Flemings seriously, if not fatally, wounded, but say they have made their escape into Kentucky. Ten or fifteen men are still in the mountains after them. Old Jefferson Fleming, the father of Col. Heenan, is under guard at Gladeville. The Flemings are wanted for the murder of the Mul lins, which occurred ia Pound Gap two years ago. The Flemings, in company with Doc Taylor, who is in jail in Lynchburg under sentence of death, killed the entire Mullins family of six with the exception of one little boy, who escaped into the mountains. They have defied the authorities for the past two years and caused a reign of terror to exist throughout that section. They also at ooe time belonged to the Talt i Hall gang. I S. a
