Decides Power Company Must Pay Boad Tax Judgment for M025, together with Interest since 1931. was given by Judie Roland Millar at Hull court- court- house this morning In favor of the Townah.p of Low. which sued the batineau power company tor in amount, claimed to be arrears for a special tax to be devoted to road ! Improvements In the district. Tha special road tax waa brnugnt Into affect by a bylaw passed by the Low Council in October. 1030. and tha power company declined to pay cm grounds that the bylaw waa not legally enacted. Judge Millar ruled that tha bylaw, designed to raise $62,000 for roads, was proper- proper- Z "" n'1 n,t.th hft.that Quebec Government grants fort for 3.200, made to the' township for the case. J. Wilfrid Sta. Marie. KC acted for the Gatineau Power Company and r. B. Major, KC. for the Township of Low. H was intimsted thst tha case. wlU be taken to appeal.
