Levi Henshaw Oorrell was borh in Martinsville, West Virginia. Oct. • 8. 1832. Having spent his childhood childhood days In the Shenandoah Valley, Valley, he moved at about seventeen years of age to Morgantown, Indiana, Indiana, where he met and later married married Mary Ann Collet. To this union union were born .twelve children, ' eight of whom grew to maturity. In 1S6S, he moved'' his family west.: settling In lola. Kansas, where he^ suffered the hardships ' common to the pioneers. In hie youth he became a member of the: Methodist Episcopal church. As a young man he was a charter member ot the Morgantown, Indiana. Indiana. .Masonic Lodge. He was also a charter member of the Moran and LaHarpe lodges. For more than seventy years he has been a MasoD. Since the fall of 1918 he has been i a member of the Masonic ftome at Wichita, at which plate he passed. away ^Wednesday, June: 23. 1926, at the age. of 93 years, S; mpntiis and 13 days. He was preceded in death by his wife In .January, 1920; also by one daughter, Julia Isatelle, in 1909 and one son! Ralph T., In 1918. He- was well; known for his sterling sterling qualities,'' robust health and unceasing efforts to better tke world of mankind. He is survived by five sons and pne daughter, 31 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and 1" great great grandchild. The children are AVIllls P. Oorrell of Putnam. Okla., James , H.. aonfell of Sallna, Kansas; Kansas; John W. Oorrell of Ceriter- Tille, Kansas; Mrs. Dell McFadden McFadden of Modesto, California; Elmer H. Gorrell ot CentervIUe, Kansas; and Ellsworth O. Gorrell of lola, Kansas. Interment was made In the Cen­ tervIUe cemetery by the side of .his wife. Mrs. 13. W. Geery, a igranddaughter.Mr. Geery and fam^ . ily. motored to CentervIUe y^ster- >;day to attend the funeral.; They wene accompanied by Mr. Ellsworth Gorrell. son of the deceased and his niece. Hazel Gorrell. '\ A New York bank recently honored honored a check for J1,000 that had been wirelessed photographically from London.
