Obituaries Funeral Rites Held For Col. Grissinger Services for Col. Jay W. Gris sineer. 70. 124 Pine street, who died Wednesday in the Walter Reed Hospital were held Friday at the Fort Myer chapel. Burial was in Arlington cemetery. He was a native of Mechanics burg, and was graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School in 1898 and the Armv Medical School in iuz when he was commissioned second lieutenant in the Regular Armv. He was chief surgeon of the Rainbow Division m France dur ine World War I and was awarded the Distinguished Serv ice Medal for his outstanding work. He was chief surgeon of the Army of Occupation in Germany . for six months after the Armistice. He was retired from the Armv Medical Corps in 1939, He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mabel - U. - ' Grissinger, and two sons, John, Westfield, N. J., and Theodore, United States Army, France.
