Mary Noreen Stakem, Mr. Smith, Wed At Midland Mist Mary , Noreen Stakem, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clem, ent Stakem, Paradise Street, Midland, became the bride May "I. of William Black Smith 3rd, con of Mr. and Mrs. William B. '. Smith. Piedmont, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Midland. Rev. John Sleeman, pastor officiated. The altar was decorated with bouquets of tulips and ferns. Sister M. Antoinette played the traditional wedding marches and Accompanied the girls' choir. The bride, given in marriage - by her father, wore a ballerina- 'length gown of white la'ce over 'net styled with fitting bodice. .Sabrina neckline, three-quarter sleeves, and a bouffant skirt. Ter fingertip veil fell from a tiara of lace and sequins:-She carried a bouquet of white carnations with .white'streamers. Miss Helen Francis Stakem, " sister of the bride, was m'aid of honor. Philip Smith, Piedmont. served as best man and Edward Orndorff. Piedmont, and John McGowan. Midland, were ushers. Following the' ceremony the bride dedicated her bouquet to the Blessed Mother while the choir sang "Mother At Thy Feet .I'm Kneeling." A reception:was held after the ceremony in. the Midland Fire . Hall. The bride's table was cen- tered with a ,tiered wedding cake surrounded .with/ white tapers. Purdy cut the cake and Mrs. Mil- 'ferns and forsythia. Mrs. John ton Sively presided at the punch bowl. Mrs. Mahlon Warnick, Mrs. Bernard Michaels.' Mrs. John McGowan. Mrs. Isaac Stakem. , Mrs. Wilbur Crowe, Mrs. Anton Mrs. Williom B. Smith II! Urbas Jr., and Mrs. Patrick Manley Manley assisted in serving. The bride is a graduate of Catholic Girls Central High School and was employed by the government in Washington, prior to her recent resignation. Mr. Smith, a graduate of Pied mont High School; is employed at the Piedmont Foundry and Ma chine Company. . • ' Since returning from their wedding trip through Southern States.
