on in Union my memorial -"for A chaw through the East JSidft'ekrYy ihhr morning: ended in the capture of three men after a man -was shot -while sitting: In his car at Water and Townscnd Sts, minutes earlier. Charles Skipworth, 24, of 961 S. Saiina St., was wounded in the left leg when a .32 caliber bullet went through his calf. A revolver of the same caliber was found on one of ihe three men picked up, police police said. Police said the trio forced Skipworth to the side of the street, hopped out and opened the door to his car and began beating him. The first shot, police said, misfired, and the shell fell to the pavement. second hit Skipworth in the Police were questioning- the trio in an effort to find a motive for the shooting. They were captured at gunpoint gunpoint by Ptl. James Mulroy as they pulled into a filling station station at State and Harrison Sts. Assisting Mulroy in the capture capture were Sheriff's Deputies Harry, Thompson and Richard Schoeneck. Skipworth was taken to Grouse-Irving- Hospital for treatment.
