About 9 o'clock on Monday night, 17th, a lire broke out at the northwest corner of Conti and Scott streets, in a two story frame building, occupied by Messrs. Romain A: Wilson, Wilson, as a carpenter's shop, and belonging to Mrs. James F. Hutchisson. The Register say s: Tbe firemen, as usual, were prompt at the fire, but, owing to the scarcity of water, they were unable to get to work until the flames bad communicated with the house adjoining, also belonging to Mrs. Hutchisson; a house on the opposite corner and the one adjoining on Scott street, belonging to M'me Bonuitte. and tbe bouse on the northeast corner of Conti aDd Scott streets, belonging to Vincent Sarra. These buildings were all frame ones to which the fire was confined. On Messrs. Romain ic Wilson the loss will fall heavy, as they had a good Seal of unfinished work on band, together with all their tools, with the exception of one chest, were burned or rendered rendered useless. There was no insurance on any ot the property. The fire was andoubt - edly the work of ah incendiary.
