About to 45 due Artist dies here Southwestern painter and printmaker Dorothy Slauffcr Hay, founder of the El Paso Artists Association, died yesterday yesterday at Tucson Medical Center. She was 73. Mrs. Hay, a recent president of The Group, an Arizona artists artists organization, was listed in Who's Who in American Art and was featured in "The West", a catalogue of Western Americana. A graduate of Stanford University University School of Fine Arts, Mrs. Hay traveled to Europe in the 1920s where she studied art in Paris, and Rome. She and her husband moved to Tucson in 1961 after living in El Paso for 10 years. She was known there for the murals she painted in the children's children's ward of Thomason General Hospital. Mrs. Hay is survived by her husband, John L.; a son, Peter, Peter, and one grandchild. There will be no funeral service. he
