Patrolling With. A I Warden Brilliant Athlete Aids Uncle Sam Alan Christiansen, former all-around athletic star at Weber high and Weber college, is now Sergeant Alan Christiansen, Christiansen, United States army. Alan has returned to his base at Savanna, Illinois, after a short furlough in Ogden with *^NEW isn't of football j With I ing busily lining friends and relatives. Alan entered the service in April, 1942, and was stationed for a brief spell at the Aberdeen proving grounds in Maryland. Later Alan was transferred to Savanna and advanced to the rank of sergeant. Christiansen was a standout athlete at Weber high and Weber college in football, basketball and track and field. He was a pinch hitter in basketball for the Wildcats Wildcats and came through with many a pleasing performance. Back in 1940 he was presented the Armstrong award for being the outstanding athlete of the year at Weber college. In football, Alan was the standout standout quarterback of the Intermountain Intermountain Junior college .league. He kicked, passed and carried the leather with the ease of an all- American. ,. More than two score former Weber Weber college athletes are now scry- ing on the biggest team of all, and Christiansen is right up there in the select class. He is the son of David L.
