    Somebody in the ad copy department goofed!! This is an image of the '55 Ford Fairlane. The '55 Thunderbird was a 2-seater convertible with an optional removable hard top.

    Exactly. Note that the copy says "...with styling inspired by the Ford Thunderbird..." This was an ad put by a local dealer -- who may or may not have had a Thunderbird featured in the showroom window -- but was trying to draw Fairlane buyers in.
