Gathering of Relatives at Mrs Frank Soday's home. Dec 21, 1888
A Pleasant Gathering- Thursday evening, Dec. 13th, the relatives of Mrs. Maggie Parks, recently of Sheakleyville, surprised her at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Soday, Main street. About thirty in all were present, taking with them refreshments, and many substantial tokens of regard, including a handsome dress pattern, bon- net.a table, books, &c. The presentation thereof by Miss Mnry Dumars wns briefly but heartily responded toby "Aunt Maggie,"whose loving, unselfish life lias over been a blessing to bor friends, and whom all desire to make welcome to Greenville. After refreshments were served the time was given up to reminiscences (nearly all having been residents of Shenkleyville). recitations nnd music,including the unique and remarkable piece "Three Crows In a Tree," by Mrs.Emma Keck. The three oldest persons present aggregated 208 years of life aud the three youngest 12 years.
