Samuel H Mosely
SAMUEL II. MOSELY THIRTY-FIRST DISTRICT. The subject of this sketch Samuel Hyman Mosely was born in he county of Franklin Georgia November I7th 1835. In 1859. ic married Miss Georgia D. Cheek. His father Daniel Mosely s one of die leading and influential citizens of Franklin cotmty an intelligent farmer and a prominent member of the Baptist Church. Mr. Samuel H. Mosely was educated in the private schools of his native county. He ha's never been a candidate for office and never held one outside of the army until his election to the Convention. He entered the Confederate service in 1862 as First Lieutenant in Company B First Regiment Georgia State Line commanded by Col. E. M. Gault was promoted to Captain in 1863 and continued in that office until the close of the war. He is a prominent merchant in his county and has been ever since his majority a strong Democrat. Capt. Mosely's mother was the daughter of Capt. Stonecypher who commanded a company in the Revolution of 1776 and emigrated to Georgia from Virginia before the present century.
