CROOKS COUPLE WED 56 YEARS .I'V." 1 Mr. and Mrs. Hemming Tidemann Crooks. S. D.. June 30. Mr. and Mrs. Hemming Tidemann, pioneer residents of Minnehaha county, celebrated the 58th anniversary of their wedding Thursday. Both were born in Meraker, Norway. Mrs. Tidemann came to this country with her parents in 1857 when she was 1 year old. They made the trip in a sailing vessel, and eight weeks were consumed in the voyage. The family settled first in Goodhue county, Minn., and came here in 1872. Mr. Tidemann was born in 1859, and came to tnis community in 1873. After their marriage in 1883 they lived in Minneapolis for a few years, where Mr. Tidemann attended an academy. After their return to this county he taught school for a number of years. They settled on a farm near Crooks which has since been their home. Both are well and enioy life. They take an active Interest in affairs of the community, and one of their greatest thrills was to attend the royal banquet recently held in Sioux Falls.
