Dear Readers: Here are some Heloise hints from 2008. These suggestions are just as today as they were then. Enjoy! Dear Heloise: Chores were always a sore point at our house. The kids complained about doing them all week long. So I came up with this idea. I bought some craft (they look like the wooden sticks from treats). I painted them, and when they were dry, I labeled them with chores that need be done daily, like empty and load the dish washer, feed pets, take trash out, etc. Now when everyone is home, I pop the sticks pretty canister, and we all take turns the stick chores. To make it more interesting, I included a couple of blank sticks. Anyone who picks a blank stick gets a chore This works really well. — Casandra Ridge, Schertz, Texas Casandra, I love this! This is a great way organize your home and keep everyone pitch ing in! Thanks for sharing. — Heloise Dear Heloise: During cold, flu and allergy season, I use many tissues each day to stop my constantly runny nose. Since I don’t several wastebaskets in every room, it isn’t too long before there are used tissues all the place. Now when I empty one box of sues, I attach it to the replacement box a rubber band or some tape so that I have convenient place to put my used tissue. eliminates clutter, it’s sanitary, and best of all, it’s one more way to recycle. — Kleinhofs, Crossett, Ark.
