OBITUARY Roger Culley Neat, son of Richard Cuilay. Neal and Lora (Aiken) Neal, was born January 24, 1913, near Akin. Illinois. Illinois. Mr. Neal prolesscd faith In Christ November 9. 1937. and joined the Akin Baptist Church. He was called into the ministry on Sept. 18, 1938 and was ordained by the Akin Church November 27. 1938. He pastored many churches In Franklin, Salem South, and Mt. Erie Associations and was at the time of death pastor of the Moore's Prairie Church near Bonnie of which he was a member. A very talthlul and devout minister, he was always ready to put God's work first. He was united In marriage fo Miss Katharine Sneed on January 2, 1937, by Reverend Harvey KImmel at his home In Thompsonvllic. To this union wore born six children. He had made his home In Mt. Vernon since 1941. He was a member of the Cement Mason's Local 331 of West Frankfort and followed the cement trade for a number of years In and about Mt. Vernon. He quietly passed away April 10, 1959, at the age ot 46 years, 2 months and 17 days. H leaves to mourn his departure, his faithful companion, Mrs. Katharine Neal six children, Mrs. Beverly Galloway ol Sprlnglieid, Mo..- Mrs. Louise Lane ol Carbondale, ill.: Roger Alan, Nancy Jane. Susan Ella and Kara Beth all at home; one grandchild. Elaine Galloway, Three brothers. Ray and Elmer Neal of Benlon; Taylor Neal and one sister Mrs, Mary Haley, both of Christopher, An Individual with outstanding personality, personality, Roger was held in high esteem by everyone who knew him. There is a long and winding road Along which each must go. It leads beyond the hills of tim* Into the sunset glow, But only for a little while our Loved ones leave our sight. For lust beyond the hills They wall in God's eternal light. Keep him Jesus in thy keeping Till we reach that heavenly shore. Then Oh A/laster, let us see him And love him as before.
