Pxaiter had about two weeks' start on Potts but h oommuntaated with his home sheriff and the latter notified Sheriff Crow of Hall county to keep a watch-out or Prater A few days a& Sheriff Crow made a trip to Prater's old home In the Fork district and learned that Prater's wife had packed and shipped bee household effects to her bus- hand at Duford. The sheriff went to Buford and placed Prater under sorest. Later he employed Colonel A. C. Wheeler to defend him. Colonel Wtoeea- er Immediately swore out habeas corpus preceding calling upon the sheriff to show cause before Judge Kimsetf why Prater should not be Ubenuted. The Judge postponed th hearing until 2 o dock this afternoon. In the meantime. Sheriff Hamilton who had be n notmed of Prater's arrest' and who Immediately left Oklahoma for Gainesville arrived. H also brought requisition papers from. Governor Smith. It to alleged that he sold two of the mule to the National Stock Company of Atlanta tor $00. II claim ibex be two other mules died.
