Star - Studded Broadcast Takes Over Show Boat Radio Hour Tonight Jeanette MacDonald, Sophie Tucker, Eleanor Powell, Ted Healy Are Cast For Premiere Of Extravaganza By DOROTHY DORAX Beacon Journal Kadio Editor ONE OP the most spectacular premierea in the history of radio is set for tonight when Show Boat's successor begins its run . on the Red network. SHOULD the show disappoint it will not be for lack of "name" stars because the lineup is a brilliant one. TITLED "Good News of 1938," the initial broadcast will feature Jeanette MacDonald and Allen Jones in scenes from "The Firefly" and Robert Z. Leonard, ace director, as master of ceremonies. Jeanette MacDonald 0 THER opening night stars will be Sophie Tucker, Elea- nor Powell, Pete Smith, Ted Healy, Una Merkel, Judy Garland, Buddy Ebsen, Igor Gorin, Helen Troy, Betty Jaynes, Ilona Mas-sey, George Murphy and Dave Gould and his dancing girls.
