Norman Thaxton, Carlinville, Dies Funeral Services Set Tuesday Tuesday al 2 p. in. CARLINVILLE --- Normnn E. Thaxton, 70, did suddenly at 11:30 a. m. Saturday while working in his garden at his home, 720 North Broad street, Carlinville. Mr. Thaxton was born Feb. 14, 1881, at Ml. Auburn, a son of George Edgar and Lucy Ellen Bloxam Thaxton. He spent, his early years in Christian county where he I aught, school until ho entered the county clerk's office at Taylorvlile as an employe. He resigned his position to accept the post of principal of t.h high school al. Pawnee, which he held for two years. On June 18, 1933, he married Minnie Dallon at the family home- near Springfield, Mo., and Mrs. Thaxton came to Carlinville in April, 1041, and had made their home here since that time. Besides his wife, he is .survived by two stepdaughters, Mrs. Dorothy Dorothy Lalir, of Greenfield, and Miss Josephine Pruilt, at home; four brothers, Grover, 01 Chesterfield; Kirk, of Greenfield; Raymond, of Jacksonville, and Henry Fowkes, of Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. Rachel Walker and Mrs. Abbey Hooper, both of Decatur. The body was removed to Heinz funeral home where funeral services services will he conducted at 2 p. m. CST Tuesday. The Rev. L. ,T. Sailor, pastor of First Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will he in Oaklawn cemetery at Greenfield. Greenfield. Auto Stolen CARLINVILLE-The automobile of John Morehrad was reported stolen Friday night while parked near (he Marvel theatre. It was found abandoned on the Shipman road by Deputy Harry Challani, who was patrolling that area.
