Emma Fiester,84, Dies After Short Illness for * funeral services Emtria V; Fiester, 84, Marengo, were held at Hoover-Valentine funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Friday. 1 Mrs. Fiester died at Marengo Memorial hospital Wednesday morning, Oct. 12, 1977 of ananeurysm. She had been hospitalized late Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. Franklin Schwarm, First United Methodist church, officiated at the services. Mrs. Fiester's granddaughters Mrs. Donald (Jeri) Maas, Van Home, and Mrs. Joseph (Dixie) Hyde, Springville, organist and ' soloist respectively, presented "The Old Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art". The Cfyde Danskins cared for the flowers. Pallbearers were Bill Danskin, Carroll and Bill McKusker, Bill and Kenneth Danskin, all Marengo; Charles McGuire, Coggon, all nephews, and Charles Kubichek, Blairstown. Burial was in Ladora ceme.tery. Born July 13, 1893, in rural Iowa < county, Mrs. Fiester was the daughter of Charles and Louisa Lacher McKusker. She attended rural Iowa county schools. June 1, 1910 she married Harry Danskin in Marengo. He died Feb. 11, 1918. In March 1921 she married Porter Fiester at Cedar Rapids. He died in February 1958. She was a resident of Marengo and :the area all her life. A member of the United ' Methodist church, she was also a member of the Women's society, the American Legion auxiliary and was formerly a member of the Rebekah lodge. Survivors include three sons, Frank and Eugene Danskin, both Marengo, and Richard Charles Fiester, Blairstown; one daughter Mrs. Elmer (Helen) Messer, Marengo; one sister Mrs. Nell Sherlock, Marengo; nine grandchildren, Wayne Messer, Landenberg, Penn.; Lauren Messer, State College, Penn.; Merle Danskin, San Josa, Calif.; David Danskin, Tempe, Ariz., Jon ' Danskin, St. Paul.JVlinn.; DehTse~ WssVrT Cedar Rapids;" Mrs. Maas and Mrs. Hyde; and Holly Fiester, Blairstown; three great grandchildren Kent and Margo Messer, Landenberg; Kalyn Danskin, '" San Jose; two sisters-in- law Mrs. Frieda Danskin and Mrs. Marie Danskin,. Marengo. . She was preceded in death also by three'sisters, Sophie McMann, Martha McGuire, Mary Stowell; three brothers Arthur and Ben McKusker and her twin brother Jack McKusker; and two grandchildren.
