Priest Killed, Six Hospitalized in County Trunk A Collision ELKHORN - An East Troy priest was killed and two other other priests were liospilalized as the result of a County Trunk A accident just west of Richmond Richmond at 4:14 p.m. yesterday. Dead on arrival at Lakeland Lakeland Hospital was the Rev. William Bauer, 62, an instructor instructor at Divine Word Seminary at East Troy. Listed in critical condition today with internal injuries is the Rev. Rupert Welndl, 78, also of the East Troy seminaiy and a former chaplain at St. Elizaloeth Home in Janesville. The Rev. Matthew Matthew H. Jacoby, 62, of Divine Word Seminary, Epworth, Iowa, suffered fractured ribs and injuries to his left lei; and head. The seminary in Iowa was j listed as owner of the car which was demolished in the three-car collision 74 miles south of Whitewater. The three priests were taken to Lakeland Hospital by a Delavan Delavan ambulance. Rushed to the Waukesha hospital by a Whitewater ambulance ambulance were four members of a Delafield family — Don F. Hillmer, ,16 with hip and leg injuries; Mrs. Germaine Hillmer, Hillmer, ,13, with two fractures of the spine; Todd Hillmer, 11, with a lip laceration and leg injury, and Scott Hillmer, 7, with a nose injury. Authorities said Don Hillmer was driving west when he came over the crest of a small hill and saw an eastbound car passing one or two others and coming directly at him in the westbound lane. Hillmer said - ThisWeek'i Li»f DOUGLAS he slowed in order to allow th« other car to return to the proper lane. However, the Hilhner car was struck from the rear by a car driven by Scbner A. Loback, Loback, 28, of Rt. .1, Whitewater. The impact skidded the Hillmer Hillmer car into the eastbound lane where it collided with the one driven by the Rev. Mr. Jacoby. Jacoby. Authorities could not determine determine whether the Jacoby car was the one which was passing or the one just passed. The Loback car veered off to the right after striking the Hillmer car. The Loback car had left front damage but Loback, Loback, who was alone in the car, escaped injury. Both the Hillmer and Jacoby Jacoby cars were demolished. Hillmer requested that members members of his family be taken to the Waukesha hospital because it was nearest their home. The death of the Rev. Mr. Bauer was recorded as Walworth Walworth County's 18th traffic fatality fatality of the year, compared to 23 by the same date in 1967. coupon
