POST THURSDAY 1 tlRIII IC 11111 f tww mftwmtMtf WITH Left to Followers Pre - diets Perfect Life FOTTNDED A CEUBCH HERE Head of Evangelical Christian Science Denomination Later Became Known Throughout Country Attended by Healer hut Had Attention of Regular Physician Arrangements for Funeral LADY having teen in falling health it is said for several months Bishop Oliver C Sabin of the Evangelical Christian Science movement died at his home 1329 M street northwest yesterday morning The announcement 01 bis death was not made public until yesterday afternoon Bishop Sabin left the following letter to his followers In giving this letter to the world as a sort of valedictory I Invoke the aid of Almighty God that He will inform me what to aay and how to say It for the greatest good for the family of man I feel the time approaching when I hi common with all the other members of the human family must obey that flat 1 Duet thou art and to dust thou shall re turn This life is such that I cannot hope for immortality As I understand now In the presence of infinite mind and Infinite life all is deathless and life eternal is a heritage of man on earth Predicts a Perfect Life But whether this is to come for the present or wait until tha sweet by and By when all shall be spiritualized is something I am unable to say but it looks to me as though we all pass through a change a change - in so - called lite Into death - and that all life will he a spiritualized life until such time as the great Master shall vitalize the whole of the children of man But be that as It may I feel that sooner or later we shall reach that haven of perfect life perfect freedom from all affliction known in the volume of death and that all who live In accord with Jesus rules will not only have life but life eternal for all and for aye Bishop Sabin was born In 1840 at Bla - dantborg Ohio and moved to Washington In 1890 starting the evangelical movement In this city Three years later he organized the Silver Knlghe of America and was editor of their paper During re - Cent years he devoted his entire time to Ms following here and edited a paper for this movement His church was not affiliated in anv way with the First Church of Christ Scientist of this city Founded a District Church Blshon Sabin and his first wife Mrs Marv C Ssbfn founded the Evaneelieal Christian Science Churoh in this city in 189 He was made the first bishop and Mrs Sabin a vice bishop and both were elected to hold office for life The movement was organized in all of the States of the Union and Bishop Samn spent much time in lecturing dn the dofctrines of the church throughout the country At the time of the death of his first wlfe which occurred about seven years ago reports were published to the effect hat Bishop Sabin praved by the body for two days in the belief that he might restore life This statemept however was emphatically denied last night by members f the family While the bishop was attended by healers of his faith he also was ministered to by a physician He Is survived by his wife Mrs Pau - lna B Sabin a daughter Mrs Rhoda S Eaton and a son Oliver C Sabin Jr all of this city Funeral services will be held at 11 clock thl morning from his home The Rev J panning Nelma will officiate Burial wlU be made in Rock Creek Cemetery Minister
