Remington Strike Parley Reached 1 TONAWANDA, N. Y., June 8. -(AP -- A Remington Rand strike truce was arranged here today after strike sympathizers, using clubs and stones, drove back most of men with whom the company essayed to reopen its plant. For a few minutes there was much disorder as police and sheriffs swung their clubs in an attempt to end the fighting. There were many minor injuries and several arrests. Then the truce was arranged. James H. Rand, Jr., president company, appeared unexpectedly and addressed the men for minutes, about 35 persons who the gauntlet of pickets during fight were sent away by the company and most of the pickets withdrawn.
