'Texas'To Open With Bugle Call CANYON ^Special)•,'- The bugle call which opens the 10th season': of "Texas," the musical drama of Panhandle history, will sound at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Pioneer Amphitheatre in Palo Duro Canyon State Park. The outdoor production will run through Aug. 23 with 8:30 p.m. performances daily except Sundays. In Lubbock the number to call for reservations is 7639466. "Texas" was written by Paul Green to take advantage o[ the acoustics o£ the canyon. Sound effects and lighting are important elements in the show. Pamela Hurst, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Hurst of Lubbock and a senior at West Texas State University, has a lead role, that of Elsie. Pamela Hurst, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.L. The opening day has been proclaimed by Gov. Dolph Briscoe as "'Texas' Day in Texas." The state legislative resolution approved in association with the proclamation commends Margaret Harper, founder of "Texas"; Raymond Raillard, executive director; William and Margaret Moore, directors; Royal Brantley, music director; and Neil Hess, choreographer. Tickets are $5, 53.50 and $3 for adults and $5, $1.75 and 51.50 for children under 12 for performances Friday and Saturday; arid, for performances .Monday-Thursday, W .50, Jf '-find $2.50 for adults and H*, *1..50 and $1.25 .for children under 12. ,•''...
