— Waelder Taxpayers . On "No-Pay" Strike From tbe Gonzales Inquirer we learn that the taxpayers of Waelder, in Gonzales county, are on a "no-pay"' strike, and refuse to pay their taxes until something is done about collecting delinquent taxes in that community. It is said that over $3000 is due the city from these delinquents, and no apparent effort Is being made by the authorities to collect it. Fifty-two taxpayers of that com- mvmiljr ha*e notified the city that they wm pas- no more fc»» imtl] some effort is made to collect from these de- Unquents. Taxpayers to many other towns Jeei like these "strikers- do about the matter. Tbe mayor of Weimar recentiy informed us that our city would be "sailing" financially if we could coDect the thousands of dollars due it in &e matter of delinquent taxes. This delinquent tax matter is getting to be a problem in many communities. A start has been made here in the matter of enforcing payment, and it may eventually result In the collection of many thousands of dollars in the way of delinquent taxes.
