FBI Chief Spreaks At Peace School The "alarming increase" in crime over the nation since V-J day makes it imperative that local, state and federal agencies continue the same close cooperation demonstrated during the war years, Jay C. Newman, Utah FBI agent, told approximately 75 peace officers at a "gathering Friday in Power Light Co. auditorium. Attending were police and sheriffs officers from Weber, Box Elder, Cache, Davis and Morgan counties. Projection slides of some of the most widely-sought state adn federal fugitives were shown by FBI agents. These included Sheldon J. Barney, 18-year-old sailor of Monroe, Utah, wanted in Ogden on charges of murder connection with the motel cabin slaying of a former Clearfield naval supply depot worker. · A discussion and demonstration of arrest proble'ms were presented by FBI Special Agent T. Hyrum Callister. More than 30 weapons of foreign manufacture and design were demonstrated. These included the Japanese baby "nambu" and other small calibre guns.
