California Woman Hurt In Traffic Crash Near Peru PERU — A 56-year-old woman from California was injured in a traffic accident which occurred at 10:50 a.m. Saturday four miles east of Peru on U.S. Highway 21 She was Pearl McArron of Pomona, Calif. She is being treated treated at Dukes Hospital for a possible fractured collar bone and a shoulder injury. Her husband, Charles W. McArron, McArron, 60, was not hurt. It was reported that McArron was operating a 1954 model half- ton truck camper out pulling a 1954 20-foot housetrailer, en route east. State Trooper Fred Biggs said McArron started to pass two eastbound eastbound pickup trucks when he met an oncoming car. He applied the brakes, causing him to lose control control of the truck. It went off the highway on the north side of the road and at that juncture, the trailer broke loose from the truck.
