DfflfflTTSJCAIN, , John and Grant Have Trouble at thi East Side Baptist Ghurch Last John and Grant Dim mitt were the leading actora in, a tragedy, somewhat different from that played by Mr. Downing, at the East Side Baptist church,, on Second street, south of Court avenue, last evening. Policeman Gibson" was shot at and missed and a woman was hit. Gibson, it is saia, had arrested Grant for a disturbance and was in the act o! taking him away when his brother John came oufc of the house and Grant yelled to him to shoot the —. He said several things, by which he meant Gibson. John complied with alacrity, It IB stated by those who saw the occurrence, but was unable to locate the anatomy of the officer. One ahot went wild and hit a woman standing by or making au unsuccessful effort to get away, the shot striking a stay in her corset, glancing and running half way around her body without penetrating the • skin. She was of course frightened, but otherwise uninjured. Jri the excitement of the shooting, both' of tho Dim mi Us escaped from custody and ,tho entire detective and police force was looking for them to- today, the lack pt success in the search seeming to indicate that they had loft town. ;.--.. The wdman's.name is stated to have been Mrs. Johnson. The police say she will file information against tho Dimmitts on a serious charge, because of the bullet striking her. The church officerssay that the Dimmitt hoys have made them trouble for some time and have felt hurt because they refused to allow them to swear, talk and otherwise disturb the services.
