PRISONER GrETS TWO YEARS FOR ESCAPING Two Weeks of Liberty Costly to Orvie Powell KINGWOOD. April 11 (AP)--Two \vceks" liberty has cost Orval "Orvie" Powell, convicted robber, two years extra in the state penitentiary. He also must serve five years sentence for robbery. Three weeks ago Powell jumped 20 feet from a courtroom window to escape after he had heard Judge A. G. Hughes sentence him to five years in the penitentiary for robbery. Powell had been brought into the court room to testify for the state in the case against Walter Moreland, who was charged with breaking and entering. Moreland's attorney objected to Powell's taking the stand before being sentenced. After being sentenced Powell walked to the rear of the courtroom and escaped. Following two weeks of freedom, which he spent hiding in the hills, Powell was captured last week near Rowlesburg as Tie attempted to get across the West Virginia line into Maryland.
