Son of County's Firstborn William R. Browning, 83, retired farmer living two miles north of Buckner, is the son of the first white child born in Franklin county. His father, James K. Browning, was one of twin boys born at Frank's Fort to John Browning, a pioneer Baptist preacher who with the Jordans Jordans and other early settlers helped build the fort, and his wife. Wm. R. Browning, whose great-grandmother was Mollie Jordan, sister of the Jordan brothers, has three sons. They are County Superintendent of Schools H. L. Browning, S. P.
