Jenio Bollord • Funeral service* for Mrs. Lou Jeania Ballard, 77, of Rt. 1, Gilmer, were held Wednesday, Oct. 5 at Croley Chapel. . The Rev. Carl Harrison officiated. Burial was at Hopewell Cemetery. Mrs. Ballard died Tuesday, Oct. 4 at her home. Born at Pritchett, May 19, 1889, she was a lifetime resident of Upshur County. 'She had been a member of the Nazarene Church for 35 years. She was married to Lon B. Ballard at Pritchett in 1905. He preceded her in death in 1940. Surviving are three sons, Marvin Ballard, Lester Ballard, and Jamt-s M. Ballard, all of Gilmer; three daughters, Mrs. Lucille Hudspeth, Houston; Mrs. Mary Lou Bledsoe, Durant, Okla.; Mrs. Christene K e a r n s, Fort Worth, 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Albert Heuzel, Leroy Ballard, J. C. Gaston, Fay Coventry, Sylvester Caffey and Clarence Shaver.
