Indian an House Of David Founder's Grandson Dies -Mr*, , Coy (Sam) Purnell, 59, grandson of King Ben Purnell and Queen Mary Pumell, died Sunday morning at Memorial hospital. Mr. Purnell's grandfather was the founder of the House David. His grandmother founded founded City of David, when a developed after King Ben's death. Mr. Pumell was awarded Ihc Bronze Star, for heroism in World War n while serving the U.S. Army in France. In 1930s, he also claimed the world's record for tree sitting. He lived at 529 Howard avenue, SI Joseph. Survivors include his wife, former Frances -Jordon; his mother,' Mrs. Stella Smith, St. Joseph; two sons, David Purnell, Purnell, Marquette, Mich , Coy Purnell, Benton Harbor; a daughter, Marianne-Purnell, Benton Harbor, and two sisters, Mrs. George (Hettie) Nelson, St. Joseph, Mrs. .Lucille Lunt, Sarasota, Fla. The body has been sent ,to University of Michigan Medical school. Arrangements were, by Dey-Florm funeral service. 1
