Paleface. - ROY ROGERS film Ne, 88 Elvis gives thanks . . . and two Lincolns A grateful Elvis Presley has presented a Denver city police captain and the department's medical adviser with a pair of designer edition Lincoln Mark IV sedans worth $27,000, officials said. The gifts were made to Capt. Jerry Kennedy, head of the departrnpnt's press relations-division, relations-division, relations-division, and Dr. Gerald Starkey, the department medical adviser. Presley said the car was given to Kennedy to show appreciation for work be did in co-ordinating co-ordinating co-ordinating security for several Presley concerts and to Starkey for medical assistance during Presley visits. Police chief Art Dill said it was all right for the men to accept the automobiles. "They were off duty at the time (of their services to Presley) and not acting in an official capacity," said Dill. "I don't see any ethical problems or conflict of interest problems that could result. They were acting on their own time. "Presley said he drives a Mark IV designer edition himself and wanted Kennedy to have one just like it," said a car salesman. The car is equipped with a quadrasonic sound system, speed control, aluminum wheels and inner rear window wipers.
