Burt Witte Busch LAKEPORT — A funeral for Burt Witte Busch, 84, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Chapel of the Lakes, Lakeport. Masonic Hartley Lodge No. 199 will officiate. Busch died Wednesday, April 12 at his Lakeport home. He was bom July 27, 1904 in Alma, Wis. and lived 60 years in Lake County. His grandparents and great-grandparents were early settlers in the Potter Valley area. Busch attended schools in Ukiah and graduated from Stanford University University Law School in 1929. He married Leonora Busch, nee Haig, in 1929 and moved to Lakeport. He served as district attorney of Lake County from 1932-1947 and was past president of the District Attorneys' Association of the State of California. He was elected to two four-year terms as state sena- tor, 4th District (Lake and Mendocino Mendocino counties), beginning in 1947. He was past president of the Masonic Hartley Lodge No. 199, past president Lakeport Lions Club, and volunteer member of the County Law Library Committee. His brother, James E. Busch Sr. of Ukiah, who was formerly district attorney of Mendocino County, died previously. He is survived by his wife, Babs Busch of Lakeport, son Bruce W. Busch of Sacramento, daughters Gail Lippe of San Jose and Joyce Busch Wright of Lakeport, and six grand- • children. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society are preferred by the family. Interment is at Hartley Cemetery, Cemetery, Lakeport.
