FLORENCE DIES MSOIK Daughter Of Judg-e And Mrs. Rices Succumbs Tuesday Morninsf. Florence Maurine jRice, daughter of Judge and Mrs. W.E, Rice, died in the Ponca City hospital shortly after .12 o'clock Monday night from an attack of meningitis which she i ] ias su -uered with since last Thurs- day. She was almost 14 years of nge, The child had been seriously .ill from the first and her father, who is the district judge for the Nob!'? county court, had discontinued court here on Monday morning in order that he might return to Ponca City to bo near the child. Little hope was held out for her from the first and although a report here on Monday afternoon stated .she had died just before noon Monday Monday this was in error and she did not die until early Tuesday morning. Funeral services are to bu held from the Gill funeral home in 'Ponca City at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon and the body will be taken to Billings for burial. It is expected that many friends from Perry, will' go to Pones City for the funeral, The girl was very popular among those who knew her and was a very affectionate child according to her friends here. She was taking up the study of music with her sistei'j . who is almost her age, and they were progressing fine both in their musical musical training as well as their school work. The Rices lived iri, Perry for u number of years and later moved to a farm near Red Rock. After the election of Henry S. Johnston as governor, Rice was calt'ed to Oklahoma Oklahoma City to do special work there, At the time it wgs Decided to giye Kay and Noble another district judge, judge, Rice was given the appointment and he has served here for almost a year now.
