George McCartney, Former Resident Of Soo, Is Dead George J. McCartney, 82, former resident of Sault Ste. Marie, who has been living here with his son- in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Hossele, 1315 Sheridan Road, died at 12:30 a. m. Thursday in St. Francis hospital, where he was admitted admitted early Wednesday evening. A heart attack which he suffered while ill with a severe cold caused his death. He was born in Glenn Cairn, Ontario, Canada, October 3, 1866, and moved to Sault Ste. Marie when he was 17 years old. He was a retired farmer. He belonged to the Pilgrim Holiness church of Sault Ste. Marie. Surviving are his wife, one son, Erwin G., Sault Ste. Marie; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Wilson, Sault Ste. Marie, and Mrs. Hos- sela; 13 grandchildren and two half brothers, Henry and Ed Morrison Morrison in Canada. The body was taken to the Anderson Anderson funeral home and was shipped shipped this morning to Sault Ste. Marie where services will be held Saturday afternoon at the Vander- hood funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Grove cemetery.
