• ~ ' .< < -, :, - .' DECOR AH BRIDGE PLANSAPPROVED Structure Will Be 294 Feet Long With Roadway and Two Sidewalks. A 'KECORAH, May 23,—The Decorah city council yesterday approved, plans and specifications for a new bridge OH Highway 55, over the Upper Iowa river. The council passed a resolution authorizing the highway commission to construct the bridge. The city has agreed Ho establish the grades ' on scvera! streets. The new bridge will be 295 feet long, with a 30 foot roadway. A five foot sidewalk on each side will be bordered by an ornamental railing on the outside and a curb rait on the inside. It will be necessary to acquire considerable property in order to ' construct the new bridge, and a change will be made in the channel of the river, with several dykes to be bunt. Fifth avenue and HeH'ley streets will be relocated. The following properties will be effected by the change: The Philip Johnson filt- 5sg station, Hoyrne Grocery, A. M. Morrison property and the Scott Oil company.
