President of Hill Packing Company Dies Burton Hill, 82, died of a heart attack at 6 p-im. Saturday at his home in Topeka, Kans. Hill was president of the Hill Packing Co which formerly had a plant here and still has a buying station HIM, as a young man, was en gaged in the real estate business In Kansas and in 1907 started the Hill Rendering Works in Topeka from which grew the Hill Parte ing Co. The packing company was started in 1930 at Topeka when Hill began to manufacture pet food and prepafatlon of horsemeat for human consumption. The EstherviHe plant began op eratlon In the late 1930s and was closed here by strike in 1907 and was never reopened. The plant was subsequently purchased by John Morrell & Co. and converted Into a hog slaughtering plant. ' Hill always said he never would retire and he was active In the company until his death. 'Funeral services were to be held today In Topeka. He is survived by three daughters and nine grandchildren.
